Founded by Clive and Eileen, the Cork-based gallery creates beautifully framed reproductions from original paintings by Irish and Ireland-based artists — printed, finished, framed, packed, and sent out with the kind of attention that can only come from people close to the making.
This is art with a sense of place. Art made to be lived with. Art that carries Ireland quietly into the rooms where life happens.
The Story
For Clive, Blue Shoe Gallery grew out of more than twenty-five years spent working with Irish craft, interiors, artists, and makers.
His path began in retail and interiors before moving into the world of Irish art and craft representation, where he built relationships across Ireland with artists, studios, and shops. Over the years, one principle stayed constant: he would only represent work he genuinely valued.
That instinct eventually became Blue Shoe Gallery.
The idea had been quietly waiting for years — gathered through conversations, trade fairs, artist meetings, and a growing sense that many artists had extraordinary work but needed the right structure around them. Pricing, presentation, lead times, production standards, retail relationships — these were the parts Clive and Eileen understood deeply.
So they designed a business around a simple idea: let the artist create the art, and let Blue Shoe Gallery take care of the rest.
The result is a gallery built on trust, presentation, and partnership — a bridge between the artist’s hand and the home where the finished piece will live.
